Terms highlights

The short version of our terms, in plain English. What the data is, what it isn't, and what you're responsible for.

Provided as-is

We return what a property's public Zillow page shows at the time of the lookup. We don't guarantee it is accurate, complete or current.

Not official

PropertiesAPI is independent. The data isn't official, licensed or endorsed by Zillow.

No FCRA uses

Don't use it for credit, insurance, employment or tenant screening, or any other decision covered by the FCRA.

Your responsibility

You decide how you use the data, and you're responsible for that use and for following the laws and terms that apply.

What the data is

The Zillow API returns data shown on public Zillow property pages: listing price and status, Zestimate and rent Zestimate when shown, beds, baths, square feet, photo URLs, days on Zillow, price and tax history, and the listing broker. It's provided as-is. We don't guarantee it is accurate, complete or up to date, and we don't check it against other sources.

What you can't do

  • No FCRA uses. Don't use the data for credit, insurance, employment or tenant screening, or to decide anyone's eligibility for those. We aren't a consumer reporting agency.
  • No unlawful use. That includes harassment, stalking, and marketing that breaks do-not-contact laws.
  • No key sharing. Keys belong to one account.

What you're responsible for

You decide how you use the data, and you're responsible for that. This includes Zillow's own terms of use and the copyright in listing photos, which usually belongs to the photographer or the listing broker. We can't grant you rights in Zillow's content.

This page is a plain-English summary. The full terms of service govern if they differ. It isn't legal advice; if you're unsure about a use, ask a lawyer.
