About PropertiesAPI
An independent API for Zillow property and listing data. Send a link or an address, get clean JSON back.
Who runs it
PropertiesAPI ("we") runs propertiesapi.com and the API at api.propertiesapi.com, as set out in the Terms of Service. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Zillow.
What PropertiesAPI is
- An API that takes a Zillow link, a zpid or a US address and returns that property's Zillow listing data as JSON.
- Getting a key: Sign in with your email and create a key from your dashboard: there's no approval step.
- For developers, proptech teams, people building AI agents, and investors working in spreadsheets.
- Also available as an MCP server for Claude, a CSV bulk upload, and Google Sheets formulas.
What it isn't
- Not Zillow, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Zillow. The data isn't licensed from Zillow and isn't official.
- Not an MLS feed. We return what a public Zillow page shows, not MLS records.
- Not a search engine: you look up a home you already have a link or address for. We don't list or discover properties across a market.
- Not an owner lookup or skip-tracing service, and not a consumer reporting agency.
- Not a valuation model. The Zestimate is Zillow's estimate, returned when the page shows it. Calculated fields are plain arithmetic on the returned fields.
Where the data comes from
Each lookup reads the property's public Zillow page when you ask. Which fields come back varies by listing: a field the page doesn't show comes back as null. The data is provided as-is, without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness. Repeat lookups of the same home within 24 hours come from our cache and are free. Zillow links and addresses cost the same: 1 credit per successful lookup. See Terms highlights for how you may use it.
How we write the docs and guides
The docs and the OpenAPI spec are generated from the same definitions as the API. Blog guides are written by Madison Moore for PropertiesAPI and checked against the docs on the date shown on each post. Prices on every page come from one source, the pricing page; the free tier gives you 50 free lookups.
